Bet on Football with SkyBet

The Premier League is what most of us remember as the Premiership before the powers that be decided that it needed a name change – the football league that plays host to the top 20 football clubs in England. The FA Premier League represents the pinnacle of English club football in what is arguably the most exciting and demanding league in the world. That’s all semantics of course because what we all want to know is how we can bet on our favourite teams and more importantly what our chances of winning are! Of course there are a lot of Bookmakers out there, most of whom have huge football sections offering great match odds so it’s important to know what you want to bet on in order to get those great odds.

There are 1000s of ways to Bet on Football games, and nearly as many Bookmakers to take those bets! Football betting takes many forms for example you can bet on the out come of a match by simply picking the team you think will win and putting some money on them. You could also do a score prediction for example you think Manchester United will beat Chelsea 1-0 or you could bet on the first goalscorer of a particular game e.g. Wayne Rooney.

These are pretty straight forward football bets and most UK Bookmakers offer them. In fact, most Bookmakers now have Free Bet Offers for new account holders. If you wanted to make things a little more interesting you could combine these bets for bigger odds. Remeber though, the bigger the odds the tougher it is to win! Bookmakers love to give big odds on combos or combination bets such as: Manchester United to beat Chelsea 1-0 and Wayne Rooney to score the first goal in the 20 - 30 minute. Whilst these bets carry attractive odds there is very little chance of landing them and the Bookmakers know it. So try to stick to single bets if you want to make a profit in the long run. So what can you bet on?

Your Team to Win the League Outright
Whether you’re an Arsenal fan or a Wigan Fan you’re going to fancy your clubs chances for a shot at the title. By clicking on the team names on the right, you can find out what the best odds for your club are. Get in quick though – the more your team wins, the smaller the odds get!

Your Team to Win a Match
Straight forward enough – if you think your team have got it in the bag before they even step on to the pitch then get that mouse clicking and put a few quid down on them to snatch victory.

First Scorer of a Match
We all have our favourite players, more importantly our favourite goal scorers so whether you back Rooney, Lampard or va va voom Henry you can name them as first goal scorers in any specific match and hopefully you’ll get back some of the hard earned cash you’ve spent on them over the years.

Anytime Scorer
Similar to the first scorer of the game in that you choose a specific player to score during a game but with the ‘Anytime Scorer’ they just have to put it in the back of the net. Whether they’re the first, second or third it doesn’t matter. Odds are lower on this option but the chances of winning are also better.

Correct Score
If only we had a crystal ball to see into the future to get this one right. If you think you have what it takes to get the final score right the odds are very good and you could be cashing in at full time.

Time of Goal
This seems almost impossible to predict – when the ball will go in the back of the net but all you have to do is look at the stats to realise that most teams are more predictable than they would like e.g. did you know that the majority of Liverpool’s goals are scored in the last half hour, and that only five of Chelsea’s goals have been scored in the first 45 mins?

Most Bookmakers will allow you to place bets on how many corners will be taken, how many free kicks, yellow and red cads will be given - you can even bet live on an increasing number of Bookmakers sites!
